Group Vivendi Africa (GVA) has confirmed that it will begin offering its CanalBox FTTH services in Gabon’s second city of Port-Gentil by mid-2022.
As the company opened a new headquarters in Libreville, its CEO Marco de Assis underlined that GVA will remain committed to Gabon’s telecoms sector, saying: “We are putting in place a plan and by 2022 we will have a presence in Port-Gentil and then we will deploy in other provinces in the interior of the country.”
TeleGeography reports that GVA debuted its FTTH offering in Libreville in October 2017. The network now reaches over 130,000 homes and enterprises in Gabon’s capital city and its environs, reportedly 50Mbps download speeds.
