Moov Africa Chad is aiming to deploy fibre infrastructure in the capital of N’Djamena as it seeks to extend its mobile network in the face of escalating demand.

According to Agence Ecofin, the Moroccan-owned operator’s general manager Mohammed Dkhissi stated that Moov was aiming to increase the number of 3G and 4G base stations across its network to 720 by the end of 2021 (the figure totalled 659 at the end of 2020).

Additionally, Dkhissi said that Moov would begin its fibre rollout in the capital in 2022, noting that the operator would “make big investments to ensure that transmission is reliable across the country.”
