PGASCOM Selects Coriant to Expand Long Haul DWDM Network in Indonesia

Indonesia’s PGASCOM has chosen the Coriant hiT 7300 Multi-Haul Transport Platform to expand the capacity of its long haul submarine cable network that links Jakarta and Singapore.

The hiT 7300 is a high-performance optical transport platform optimised for reliable and efficient transport in regional, long haul and ultra-long haul terrestrial and subsea networks. PGASCOM selected the platform based on its ability to seamlessly increase network capacity, support flexible network configurations, and deliver unmatched reliability.

Jamalum Simamora, Network Operations General Manager, PGASCOM, said: “The Coriant solution will not only enable us to efficiently increase service capacity and expand our network without disrupting existing traffic, but also help extend the lifespan of our submarine network and seamlessly scale to meet future demands.”

Widely deployed in the most demanding transport networks in the world, the hiT 7300 delivers superior density and reach, photonic mesh for enhanced resiliency and agility, and cost-effective scalability to 100G and beyond. The solution will help PGASCOM improve optical performance in its Jakarta to Singapore long haul link and reliably expand network capacity in a pay-as-you-grow fashion to meet the evolving service demands of its end-user carrier customers.

Stefan Voll, Vice President, Product Management, Packet Optical & NMS, Coriant, said: “Submarine networks are critical for international broadband connectivity in Southeast Asia, and these networks can be a potential bottleneck due to the time, expense, and environmental challenges associated with capacity upgrades. Our solution meets these challenges with virtually unlimited capacity, system upgrade simplicity, and unparalleled resiliency.”
