The leading telecommunications provider in Indonesia has entered into an agreement to build a content delivery network.
PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (TELIN) is using technology from EdgeCast Networks to construct a regional CDN directly connected to EdgeCast’s global network, which now carries more than 4 percent of the world’s Internet traffic.
“This partnership is great news for both companies and the customers we serve,” said James Segil, co-founder and president of EdgeCast Networks. “EdgeCast customers will have improved performance and reach in Indonesia, and TELIN customers will have access to the world’s best global CDN.”
“With the rapidly-growing rate of Internet adoption in Indonesia, we have observed a commensurate rise in CDN usage among enterprise companies here,” said Syarif Syarial Ahmad, CEO of TELIN. “This partnership with EdgeCast enables us to participate in that growth by leveraging CDN as a source of new revenue.”
TELIN plans to work with EdgeCast on incorporating other services, including Internet Protocol television (IPTV) and cloud hosting, into its CDN offerings.
