dtac boosting Thai connectivity with Nokia’s 5G/4G gear

dtac has partnered with Nokia to deploy 5G/4G equipment in selected areas of Thailand.

As part of dtac’s efforts to continue improving its network, the company is accelerating deployment of low band and high capacity massive MIMO technology to expand coverage and give customers a better data experience.

Prathet Tankuranun, Chief Technology Officer at Total Access Communication Plc (dtac), said: “Our strategy is focused on delivering better data experience for the many, not for the few. 5G-ready Massive MIMO is currently being deployed to provide higher capacity 3x better data experience on 4G network to meet the real needs of all customers. dtac will meet those needs in the cities, in rural areas, on both existing and future devices.”

“Massive MIMO will be a transformative technology in the years to come, and we assess vendors based on technical quality, ability to innovate and modernise the network, commercial terms and conditions, as well as security evaluation. For dtac a multivendor strategy is important to continue to secure the high-quality network service for our customers,” Prathet added.
